pEarlier this year, Allstate Insurance Company opened what they are calling “The Insight, Design, and Innovation Center” which studies ways to better serve policyholders. An Allstate Senior Vice President of this division allegedly asked “Why can’t I use the phone to take pictures of my damaged car and generate an automated claim?” Allstate then began what it calls a “collaborative program.” The first product offered by the Allstate Insight, Design, and Innovation Center is called “Drivewise” an auto insurance product that includes a device embedded in the vehicle that tracks certain motoring habits and makes consumers eligible for discounts if they engage in low risk behaviors. /p
