Pennsylvania Parents Push for Teen Driving Reform, Legislators Not Listening

Many parents who have lost children in fatal Pennsylvania car accidents are calling on legislators to pass House Bill 67, which would prohibit teen drivers from using a cell phone while driving and having more than one non-family teen in the vehicle. But legislators aren’t listening, according to The Mercury. The parents of two teens who were killed last year started working toward teen driving law reform just a few months after the loss of their sons. Until teen driving law reform is in effect, many say that the risk of accidents, injury and death will increase. Local legislature returned from the summer recess and will leave again to campaign for the November 2 election; therefore, the window to make any progress on House Bill 67 is closing fast.
