What began as a routine drunk driving suspect pullover in Maryland became a high speed chase that came to an end in Washington, D.C. only after the suspect crashed into several cars. According to CBSLocal.com, police attempted to perform a DUI traffic stop on a man in a black pickup truck on the Beltway in Prince George’s County after receiving reports that he may have been driving under the influence of alcohol. However, when police attempted to pull him over, he refused to stop, initiating the pursuit.
Over the course of the incident, the man was pursued by both Maryland State Troopers and D.C. Police Officers, along with a police helicopter. The chase came to an end in D.C. when the man slowed down to approximately 10 miles per hour and crashed into multiple vehicles at the intersection of New York Ave. and Florida Ave. After the crash, the man was taken into custody.
