Driver Loses Control of Vehicle, Crashes Into South Jersey Bar

On January 5, a driver apparently lost control of his car on Route 9 in NJ and hit a fire hydrant and a utility pole. He then crashed into Gregory’s Bar & Restaurant at the Jersey Shore, which had about 100 patrons at the time. New Jersey Department of Public Works employee Jay Artale was injured while repairing a water main in Fairfield, NJ on October 29. An article on NJ.com reports that he sprained his neck and back and suffered bruises on his legs and arms when the walls of a hole caved in on him. A co-worker was also injured. Construction Accident in Connecticut Hurts Man

Justin Plank, a 21-year-old man, was injured on May 12 at a gas station in Norwalk, CT after a steel beam fell off a payloader and struck him in the leg. According to this article, Plank was guiding a 16-foot steel pillar into place at when a chain wrapped around the claw-bucket holding the beam slipped.
