Three unidentified construction workers were seriously injured last Friday afternoon in Boston when steel rods pinned two of the workers to the ground and also injured a third worker. The construction accident happened in the foundation for two buildings located at 50 Northern Avenue in the city a little after 1:30 p.m. that afternoon.
The Boston Globe reported that the steel rods had somehow moved and trapped the workers, who were in the three-story ditch working on the foundation. Emergency workers used the construction company’s crane to rescue the workers from the ditch.
The three unnamed workers were taken to area hospitals with injuries to their legs and arms. The injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating this workplace accident.
